Homelessness

The Homelessness Crisis Continues Homelessness has become a rapid growing problem in Hawaii.  With 487 homeless per 100,000 people we retain the highest rate per capita in the nation, and bills like “Sit and Lie” have done nothing but drive the rate up higher and move populations around the island. Proposed Kaneohe Bus Route Changes

Most Kaneohe bus riders commuting to Honolulu and Waikiki will be required to transfer. Only two bus routes will use the Pali to get to Honolulu and Ala Moana. Kaneohe Bay Drive and over Mokapuu Extension will have one express bus route from town. IMO bus riding to town from Kaneohe will be much more difficult. Several Windward Routes will now terminate at the Kalihi Transfer station where you can catch the rail to get where you want to go.
